Back to Heaven and Hell

This is part 2 of the story that began as last week's Theme Thursday post. If you missed that post, click here to read that one first.
_______________

Jill knew this day would come eventually. Attachments were difficult and dangerous, not just for the men who managed to grace her bed for more than a night or two. She had to find out exactly how bad this relationship with Robert had turned.

She threw her leg over the Harley and it roared to life. Jill peeled away from Heaven and Hell as fast as the bike would carry her. Within minutes, she reached her destination. She held her hand over the sensor and waited impatiently for the scanner to clear her entry.

The lab was full of high tech equipment, most of which the general public couldn't have access to, if they even knew these devices existed. Jill slipped behind a work station and removed her sunglasses. She leaned forward, allowing the retinal scan which would boot up the computers. Soon the machines were humming and a deep voice spoke, "Good afternoon, Madam. Your visit is most unexpected. What can I do for you today?"

"Scans, James. I want to know everything about the women in these images. Rush order." When a small compartment opened in the desk, Jill placed the manila envelope of photos inside. The compartment slid closed. "Request acknowledged, Madam. Your work is always a rush." The computer spoke.

"Get to work," she growled. "Stop trying to have a sense of humor. You're a machine, James." Jill turned to the next station, repeating the scanning process to unlock another machine. This computer's host was a sexy sounding Australian named Peter. "Peter, full scans on subject Robert Parks." Jill slid a photograph of Robert into the waiting data port. It slid closed with an efficient click. "Acknowledged. Legal or illegal means?" Peter asked.

"I said full scans. By any means necessary, Peter."

"Acknowledged." Peter began humming as he performed his covert tasks. His monitor glowed red when he was running his more questionable searches. Jill paced impatiently as the machines carried out her orders.

A loud beep signified the end of James' research. "On screen or oral report, Madam?" James asked.

"Summarize. Full data on screen."

"Nothing of note on most of these women. But this one," James flashed the perky blond on screen, "works for The Division. Full file on screen two."

Jill cursed under her breath. The Agency and The Division have waged war against each other for ages, ever since the creation of the rival companies. It seems that The Division had used one of it's agents to seduce Robert to find information on Jill.

Jill was oddly flattered that they had used one of their best operatives for the task. Stacy was a level 5, used for high level undercover and the most dangerous ops. The Agency had little information on The Division's L5s, just as she took care to keep information on herself and the other L5s from falling into enemy hands.

The Division could have sent a newbie to seduce Robert. That pig could never keep it in his pants, which was one of the reasons she selected him. Their efforts were wasted on a Level 5 for Robert knew nothing of Jill or her work, except those details which Jill had carefully planted.

Jill read the sparse file they had on Stacy. Name: Stacy Montagne. Code Name: Mountain. Approximately 30 years old, blue eyes, blond hair (not that those details mattered much in their line of work). 5'7. Known targets included high level members of the president's cabinet, senators and drug lords. Her work was mostly restricted to the domestic region - the US, Canada and Central America.

Poison, guns, knives, explosives. Stacy had an impressive repertoire when it came to weapons. Most agents specialized in one, but Stacy was more of a jack-of-all-trades. Jill admired that in an adversary. That would make this game so much more fun...

Jill was masterful in the use all weapons herself. She was an expert shot, but preferred the intimacy of hand to hand combat. Jill's playground was rarely on domestic soil. Agency operatives advanced to Europe at Level 3, Asia at Level 4. As the highest ranking agent, Jill's deadly games traversed the globe. She would track her targets around the world and Jill rose quickly through the company's ranks because she always got her man. Or woman. Her skills had earned her the code name Zeus, king of her band of assassins.

One of Stacy's known associates was a bartender at Heaven and Hell. It was time to pay another visit to the bar. Jill didn't mind that would blow the element of surprise. She wanted her prey to know she was onto her.

Jill looked at her watch. She had been working through the night and most of the afternoon. The bar wouldn't open for another couple hours. It would be the perfect time for a visit. Jill stepped up to a door and spoke her access code into the microphone. The door slid open, giving Jill access to a treasure trove of weapons. She made her selections carefully before hopping back on the bike.

Jill stalked to the front door of Heaven and Hell. She drew back her arm and plunged a dagger deep into the wood. The blade was custom sculpted into the shape of a lightening bolt, her trademark. Within hours, the associate would alert Stacy that Zeus was on to her.

"Madam," Peter's voice rang through from her wrist unit. "I regret to inform you that Robert Parks is dead."

Jill stared at the images on Peter's screens, which displayed autopsy photographs. "Damn they move fast," she marveled.

"No, Madam. Mr. Parks has been deceased since 1999. We have no data on the man in that photograph. He's a ghost."

"There are no ghosts, Peter. Open file on newest Department recruit." Jill smiled grimly. She would enjoy taking them both down.

Brian: I won't hold your typos against you if you won't hold mine against me. As for the code name, it's no more than Stacy's last name - Montagne, Mountain... Not very creative, I know.
