It's Wednesday and Otin is trying to inspire the poet in all of us with his Rhyming Wednesday. You won't see any original stuff here... Today I'm lifting my words from Kenny Loggins. This was the song my dad would sing to me every night when I was little. It was the song my dad and I danced to at my wedding. And now it's the song I sing to my little guy to put him to sleep.Christopher Robbin and i walked along
under branches lit up by the moon
posing our questions to owl and Eeyore
as our days disappear all to soon
but I've wandered much further today than i should
and i can't seem to find my way back to the wood
so help me if you can I've gotta get
back the the house at pooh corner by one
you'd be surprised there's so much to be done
count all the bee's in the hive
chase all the clouds from the sky
back to the days of Christopher Robbin and pooh
Winnie the pooh doesn't know what to do
got a honey jar stuck on his nose
he came to me asking help and advice
from here no one knows where he goes
so i sent him to ask of the owl if he's here
how to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear
help me if you can i gotta get
back to the house at pooh corner by one
you'd be surprised there's so much to be done
count all the bee's in the hive
chase all the clouds from the sky
back to the days of Christopher Robbin and pooh
it's hard to explain how a few precious things
seem to follow throughout all of our lives
after all's said and done i was watching my son
sleeping there with my bear by his side
so i tucked him in, kissed him, and as i was goin'
i swear that ol' bear whispered "boy, welcome home"
believe me if you can i finally come
back to the house at pooh corner by one
and whaddya know there's so much to be done
count all the bee's in the hive
chase all the clouds from the sky
back to the days of Christopher Robbin
back to the ways of Christopher Robbin
back to the days of pooh

I love this song. I remember singing it at camp when I was younger. Great choice.
This is really cool!Love that song!
That is the sweetest thing that you carry that tradition on!
That is a Kenny Loggins song? I don't think that I have heard it, what is the actual title so that I can listen to it?
Otin: I guess I forgot the title. It's house on pooh corner.
Jaime, I didn't realise that was Kenny Loggins...still a fun tune, tho' :)
This song was on a children's tape that I used to play every night to help the boys fall to sleep. Very sweet.
I love the pooh and wear pooh T-shirts, I even have piglet too.
That is a great song, but an even great story of how you are all sharing this son between the generations. Thank you for sharing this with us.
God bless.
Oh I finally got my poem up too.
I don't know that I've ever heard that one, but the tradition is very cute!
*lol* Now I'll be singing all night long! That was one of my favorite songs in camp when the kids wouldn't go to sleep :-)
You CANNOT go wrong with this song...it was absolutely SWEET to read (and sing along) to these lyrics!
