_______________
An interesting twist, Robert being the newest Division recruit. Jill scolded herself for not foreseeing that possibility. But it would make the end game more fun now that she had two targets to hunt. Jill hummed the tune of the old gum commercial while thoughts of “double your pleasure, double your fun” ran through her mind.
Robert would be easy. Jill thought back over the details he shared of his life. As a L1 operative, he was still very green. So green that he’d still need to rely upon the oldest trick of making his cover story stick…work in enough details of your real life that it rings true and is easy to remember.
The name was a lie, but Jill would lay money on him hiding out at his family’s old lake house. The details were too strong, his childhood memories of the place too clear to have been a fabrication. The fool had described exactly how to get there when he and Jill were supposed to spend a long weekend at the lake. The weekend was canceled when Jill had to work. She had pretended to be distraught that they had to postpone their plans, but killing the Swiss ambassador gave her more of a rush than seeing Robert ever did…
She traded in her Harley for an Agency Jeep. A quick phone call ensured that the trunk was loaded with everything she’d need for the mission. A small briefcase lay on the passenger’s seat. Jill knew, without opening it, that it contained a mobile unit, giving her full access to the Agency’s machines, and a supply of her trademark daggers. Jill turned the key and punched a button, sending the vehicle vertical, flying through the air rapidly toward
Robert would never suspect that she would be on to him this quickly and his guard would likely be down. Still, Jill never was one to take unnecessary chances. As she entered the town, she flicked a switch on the dash that put the Jeep into stealth mode. Her soundless arrival to the lake house revealed a pleasant surprise. Robert stood on the porch, very much alone and fully out in the open.
Jill slipped from the car quietly, a fist full of daggers in her hand. She drew back her arm and let the first one fly. Her aim was perfect and pinned the left sleeve of Robert’s shirt to the side of the house. Another dagger pinned his right arm to the house. Robert’s screams of pain and surprise ripped through the tranquil setting when two lightening bolts went through his shoes, fully immobilizing him. Jill stepped from the shadows, hopping onto the porch. Leaning in close to Robert’s shaking body, Jill scolded, “Did you honestly think you could beat me? Tell me what I want to know and I’ll make it quick and painless for you.” To Robert’s credit, he didn’t cry or piss his pants. Instead, he spit in Jill’s face, earning him a quick backhand to the cheek. “Where. Is. Stacy.” Jill demanded. Robert said nothing. Jill bent down and removed a blade from her boot. She brandished the weapon, running the tip down the curve of Robert’s neck. “Last chance,” she taunted. “Believe me; I will take great pleasure making you suffer.”
Robert remained silent. As Jill pulled the knife back, ready to plunge it into Robert’s stomach, he screeched, “WAIT!” Jill’s hand froze. “I don’t know where she is. But I can tell you how to reach her. Take the phone out of my pocket. Dial *91."
Jill grabbed the phone, carefully passing the phone over her own. The casual gesture would download Robert's data directly to her mobile unit. She pulled the dagger out of his left sleeve, freeing his hand. "Set it up," Jill commanded. Robert glared at her as he began to dial. "Fucking bitch," he spat.
Those would be Robert's last words. Jill wasn't going to give him enough time to lay a trap or warn Stacy. Hell, if Jill's hand were on that phone, she already would have set off a remote detonated bomb, blowing herself and Robert to bits. She traded her knife for the gun at the small of her back. One quick shot and Robert was no longer a threat.
Jill jumped from the porch, eager to check out the stolen data. No doubt, it would prove to be the most useful intelligence they had gathered on the Division recently. Robert was meticulous in his note taking and quite stupid keeping it all loaded on his mobile.
Code names, real identities, recent jobs. It was all there. But most importantly, the location of Division headquarters. Jill and her fellow agents had been closing in on the Division for years but could never find the exact location. Perhaps the most fascinating tidbit in Robert's arsenal was the file on Jill herself. She would study that later. Now it was time to strike fear in the heart of every Division operative throughout the world.
Jill phoned in a request for a chopper and sped off to the designated drop point. The bird was already waiting when she arrived. She was at her destination in hours. With practiced skill, Jill repelled down the side if the unassuming building. Every few floors, she planted another sensor. Upon reaching the ground floor, Jill worked the foundation. With her anti-gravity belt activated, she retraced her steps up the other side. In all, Jill planted enough explosives to level a city block.
Jill took flight once more. She punched a series of keys on her mobile and laughed as her message was delivered. Using Robert's access codes, Jill had just invaded every Division computer. Their screens would go black just before a gold lightening bolt flashed. Jill's voice rang out "Good bye."
The sky shook with the massive roar as the Division headquarters and all inside her erupted into the fiery pits of hell. At the same moment, thousands of miles away, a similar tragedy befell the Agency. Stacy smiled from behind the wheel of her convertible as she raced through the streets of Los Angeles.Jill's pocket buzzed, alerting her to a new message. Stacy's email was no more than an image of a halo.
There they were, the world's best and most deadly operatives, the only ones left of their respective organizations. Would they hunt each other down for the ultimate battle of good versus evil? Would they spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders, knowing that a deadly assassin was on their tale?
"Of course, that was not part of the plan," the instructor lectured. "That was the beginning of Heaven and Hell. The world's newest and most deadly group of covert operatives. Each of you were hand picked by Jill and Stacy for your unique talents to be a part of the first class. Don't let them down. We will be watching."
