So it's official... I've been officially banned from blogging at the office. I got a cease and desist email from the IT department that I had improperly accessed the follow web sites from my computer during work hours: playlist.com, photobucket.com, hulu.com and *sob* blogger.com. I successfully managed to convince them that I've never been on the first three pages (which I really haven't. I didn't even know what hulu was). But now I have to stay off my blog and *sniffle* all of yours during the day.
Let me tell you, it is no fun only being able to work at work. First they took away my access to pogo. Then facebook. What's wrong with a little blogging during the day? It's not like I spent HOURS doing it. If I'm fried and need a little break, what's wrong with hopping on Brad's blog to read the latest diatribe on Jon & Kate? The alternative is that I walk down the hall to someone else's office and we bitch for at least 20 minutes. Is it really worth the .3 it's costing both of us just to keep me off my blog?
I've been trying to juggle writing two motions and three briefs all day. And it's all due tomorrow. Long before noon, I knew that I wasn't going to get any sleep last night. So at the end of the day, my friend cruises into my office and plops down across from me and starts complaining about how much work he had to do. Us lawyer-types are always up for a contest, so I very quickly cut him off and told him about my hellish day and that my week was shaping up to be an 80+ billable hour week...
And what is he up to? The poor boy is taking off half the day today to go to his wife's doctor's appointments. (They find out tomorrow if the baby is a boy or a girl). He's heading down to Atlantic City tomorrow before heading off to New Orleans for the rest of the week. Doesn't your heart just bleed for him?
Anyway, have I mentioned that blogging just isn't the same when you try to access the pages from your cell?
I know I have like 4 awards and 3 tags to post. I promise I'll get to it eventually. Damn this sucks. All work and no play makes Jaime a very boring girl... This post really wasn't all that random. I'll have to work on that for next week.

I'm going to write a letter to your office and tell them you'll be a better lawyer if you're allowed small breaks to blog throughout the day!
Rules, schmules. :D
I'm sorry that you got into trouble over the blogging. I know you are not the first and won't be the last to meet the same fate.
We will wait patiently for you to come home and update us each day. haha
You can take the woman away from her blogging friends, but you can't take the blogging friends away from the woman! I will also have a blogless free day, until at least six! I always feel like I am missing something. Have a good day!
blogless free day wtf am I saying! LOL it's early!
Sorry about your website bans. Similar stuff went down in my office right before I quit work.
Good luck getting all your work done.
DUDE! That's crap! I'm so sorry. I can imagine that made your day go that much faster. I'm SAHM and it helps me with my sanity!
Rules were made to be broken right? ;)
Blogging at the office ban?
Whaaaaaaaa ;(
That sucks! I'm suing your lawfirm! LOL
I know you have a ton to catch up on, kind of like me! But I did give you a cutel lil award since I have missed you!! :)
awww. no more blogging from work! that's the worst. so sorry to hear it.
You can always write your posts in Word and then email them to yourself to post from home... :)
Hi,this is shit! It's not fair. It's not what life is about.I seriously think that one is doing a better job when he's relax. If you go blogging a bit it doesn't mean that you won't do your job well.A bit of everything,no?Restrictions isn't a good thing, this is like the diets, restrict yourself and it doesn't work, you crack really fast, but eat a bit of everything and be happy and it long time results, then it's the same about everything else.Tell them that!Lol
Have a nice day :)
GASP....no blogging at work?! That's just plain cruel!
No blogging at work? Sacre bleu!
Sounded random!!!
I just want to find some time for a hair cut!!! It's getting messy :-(
Oh... I can definitely not blog on the internet at work.
But... I can write posts!!! Especially since I paid for the damn laptop and not the cheap ass school district. My computer!!
Boo! I guess this means you won't be blogging as often? I repeat, BOO!
You could always compose them in word and post them later. Just sayin'.
Not that I do that or anything.
Ahem.
Ms S: I knew I loved you for a reason.
Stacie: If I wasn't making my hours, I'd be more concerned about getting busted...
Otin: At least you're outside getting some fresh air. I'm usually chained to my desk. AND being restrained from the web sites i peruse...
K: thanks. i'm starting to take it personally though... i'm the cause of the office blogger bans AND the new dress code :)
julie: i can imagine how badly you need your blog breaks during the day. you need them even more than i do!
peggy: yeah...but i still want to have a job at the end of the day
harriet: my sentiments exactly
jen: good to see you back in action! thanks for the award!
little miss spy: it could always be worse. i could have no job and, therefore, unlimited blogging time.
greenjello: oh, i do. but it's not the same.
candie: i agree! i just wish the guys i work for did too
marathoner: hmm...cruel and unusual punishment. i think you're onto something
sprites keeper: i know right
hit 40: i average 2 hair cuts a year - when it gets so long that i have to force myself to get it cut.
rach: nah - i've been doing most of my blogging for the week over the weekend. i'll still be here to entertain you dear
keely: *sure* you don't
Shhhh. I don't think the IT Dept at my office knows about blogger.com yet. It's about the only one...
New dress code? What did you do?
Megan: How is that possible? Okay...I'll keep my mouth shut.
Rach: Didn't you hear this one? After maternity leave, while still nursing the little guy, my boobs were a problem for the menfolk at the office. I can't help the fact that my breasts are huge! But now they must be appropriately covered at all times
Gasp! Say it isn't so about the new No-Blogging rule at work! That is a real bugger.
And blogging on the phone just isn't the same!
Ugh.....I feeel bad for you.....
