family

We took these pictures exactly a year ago up at my parent's house. The same group will be assembled there today, except my sister who refused to even be flown home for mother's day on my dime. (We suspect it's because she has plans with her on again, off again boyfriend and his kid. If I find out that's true, I'm not going to be happy. You don't blow off family for something like that.)

So the one thing I asked for for mother's day was to sleep. I'm a simple girl. It doesn't take much to make me happy!

But here I am up at the crack of dawn. Actually, both my mom and I are up. My dad and husband are still upstairs snoring away happily. I'm not sure how that happened, but that's okay. The smile on Andrew's face when he saw me this morning made pulling the early shift (again) well worth it.

I got a great present from the little guy. They made it at daycare. It was a really sweet poem with his handprint at the bottom. Have I mentioned yet today what an awesome kid I have? :)

The family's assembling in a couple hours. I can't wait to have everyone together! It'll be the first time I've seen my grandpa since he's been out of the hospital. And it's been months since the last time I saw my cousins (the little kids in these pics).

Anyway, I have to run. My mom forgot bread at the store and it'll be a little hard to make stratta without it. (Oh yeah, I'm up early AND cooking on mother's day. And if you know anything about me by now, it's that I. Do. Not. Cook.)

Happy mother's day to all my readers who are moms. And to those of you who aren't, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I love chocolate and to sleep in a little - it was awesome.

Oh I love this post.
BTW, I don't have any kids, but my BF and I are raising his grandson (he turns 4 next month).
So I guess I'm a mom...or a grandma...or something.
Happy Mom's Day to YOU!

Love the pictures! I have a sister like that... And why is it that on the day we're 'allowed' to sleep in, we're always the first ones up? LOL!!

Hope you've had an awesome Mother's Day! :)

Hello my love. I hope you enjoyed your mother's day. I don't cook either, but I made breakfast for the family this morning. Sorry I've been a lame blog friend but I haven't gotten around to reading much this week! Next week will be better!
