please...get out of the game...

Attorneys get a bad rap. If you have the misfortune of being a lawyer from Jersey, then you REALLY get a raw deal. But as I sit here at my desk, I feel compelled to write the following to the jerk offs who have made the path for me and my peers so difficult through their utter incompetence.

Know yourself well enough to recognize your weaknesses…

If you don’t know how to write, don’t. Hire an associate to write your briefs.

If you don’t know how to research, don’t. Hire someone to do your research for you. You should not be citing cases from head notes and relying upon overturned law. (DUH) Your case should actually stand for the proposition you’re relying on it for, otherwise, you have no business citing it.

If you don’t know basic grammar and punctuation, return to first grade immediately. There’s no help for you.

Block quotes do not belong in actual blocks. Just indent the damn thing on both sides and use single spacing... (Oh yeah, he really had lines on all sides of the quote) Footnotes should be using sparingly - and should not take up an entire page and a half! And the phrase is "mens rea." "Mens era" has nothing to do with the law - it's probably the name of a strip club somewhere.

But if you can’t string together a coherent sentence to save your life, please, get out of the game.

You’re giving us all a bad name. I’m tired of it. And there’s absolutely no reason why I should have to bill my client 3 hours to read a 39 page document that’s hardly written in English. Calling it gibberish mumbo-jumbo is truly giving it far too much credit. I am dumber for having sat here and read this piece of trash.

Now I have to go figure out how to respond to this nonsense.

I used to sell home improvements, A customer of mine asked me "whats all this fancy writing about a lien placed on my house." I responded, "Sir you don't want it reinforced?"
